Midland Hotel

Work Posted on Sun, January 25, 2009 18:53:58

I’ve finally added a whole load of work undertaken for the Midland Hotel, Morecambe. This project was very special to me and was my final major project I undertook whilst at Urban Splash. It has taken me so long to get together because of the sheer amount of items I had designed for the hotel, I never thought i would have designed so many items from booking forms to signage.

The concept behind the printed items was white>reveal>colour as the whole building facade is coated in a beautiful white sparkling render, when inside bright & vivid colours sit alongside a more muted palette.

All of the work can be found on my site

Ian Simpson Architects

Work Posted on Tue, January 20, 2009 12:20:34

Carrying on with the Architecture theme I was really happy this morning to see ISA had updated their website with some new projects.

I worked for ISA for 2 years, creating a strong identity for the practice and working closely with their talented multi-media team. One of the many projects I worked on was the ISA website which was designed and programmed by myself with the help from a coder. I’m still immensely proud how this site turned out as It was the result of some real hard work and after 3 years online it is still visually relevant.

When I left ISA they were beginning to work on some interesting overseas projects in the Middle East as well as their on-going saga with Blackfriars tower in London. Both of these projects are now featured on the site as well as a great application for a primary school in Cumbria so worth checking out

Also see if you can spot me on the team page, they still haven’t taken me off!

Cameras ready… prepare to flash

Work Posted on Fri, December 19, 2008 12:31:47

Finally activated my good friends aaapromotions website last night after chipping away at it for a few months in my spare time. The subject matter is close to my heart: dancers, models and all round gorgeous women so was a joy to work on.

Anyway this is a nice simple site and brand, yes I have used elements from my previous work but hey if the glove fits…

Rollercoaster Rides

Work Posted on Thu, December 18, 2008 11:45:22

Happy bunny this morning when Mr.Postie arrived with my Christmas by Colour poster, also quite intrigued because when I submitted my idea I was slightly tipsy and couldn’t remember what I had put (*note don’t read design blogs when I get in from the pub).

So I was surprised at my wit, I had put…

Okay what’s that got to do with Christmas you say? well because that is the feeling I get when I wake up and Im ready to open my presents of course!

Or maybe its because I was a bit worse for wear when I thought of that! regardless the poster is lovely and all proceeds go to CALM so everyone is a winner!

You can buy them here
